Responsibilities:

  • Providing cross-departmental support to solve customer requests with valid engineering designs/specifications that can be handed over to design engineering team.
  • Internal Subject Matter Expert for evaporation process and design.
  • Generate system P&ID’s, PFD’s, MEB’s, and heat transfer calculations.
  • Correctly specifying components to be used in ENCON systems. Common components include:

·        Vessels

·        Heat Exchangers

·        Circulation Pumps

·        Gas Burner Systems

·        Steam Systems

·        Blowers

·        Valves

·        Piping

·        Flow/Measurement Devices

  • Interacting with vendors to support/design system components, materials, and design alternatives.
  • Providing cross-departmental support for production, service, sales, etc.

Background & Experience:

  • Expert in Process Water (Evaporation, Brine Concentration, High Recovery Reuse, ZLD) Systems.
  • Extensive experience generating P&ID’s, PFD’s, MEB’s, and heat transfer calculations related to large scale industrial equipment or processes with strong preference for evaporator/crystallizer design experience.
  • Correctly, comprehensively, and effectively sizing and specifying process design components such as vessels, heat exchangers, circulation pumps, compressors, burners, blowers, valves, piping, temperature probes/transmitters, level probes/transmitters, pressure transmitters, and various flow control devices.   
  • Extensive experience translating engineering concepts into process equipment designs from front end engineering through to detailed designs that are thorough and accurate.
  • A habit of bi-directional peer review of designs done by you and your colleagues.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to peer and junior level team members.  
  • Have excellent organizational skills and can work on multiple projects simultaneously, and under deadline pressure.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience doing large scale process equipment or process design is strongly preferred.
  • Procedure-oriented habits of communicating consistently with customers (i.e., designers, fabricators, supply chain personnel) during the design process.
  • Procedure oriented habits of teamwork that include working collaboratively with peers and colleagues to design systems and solve problems.
  • Hands on experience operating large scale multi-component industrial process equipment or processes is a strong plus.
