BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • The ability to understand our customer’s needs and problems and translate them into designs which can be both readily built by production and generate immediate value for the customer and ENCON.
  • The ability to understand electromechanical machines and the applications associated with them on a fundamental level and lead a technical team to deliver an engineered solution that meets the technical, time, cost, quality and safety goals for the project.
  • A proven track record of managing engineering projects within an equipment manufacturing environment.  Your engineering activities need to mesh seamlessly with the manufacturing, purchasing, service and sales activities.
  • A proven track record of engineering complex fluid handling systems that substantially employ principles in multiphase flow, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
  • The ability to successfully leverage the technical knowledge of external resources (suppliers and contractors), in essence increasing bandwidth of the ENCON engineering team.
  • Experience guiding a team and organization to ensure it is scoping, designing and building machines that conform to applicable codes, standards and customer specifications.
  • Expertise in working with service personnel to solve equipment operational problems and recommend solutions to problems that may or may not fall under the per-view of ENCON.
  • Ability to produce component RFQ’s and manage the RFQ process such that the components we buy from our supply chain are aligned with the technical needs of the system design and the commercial needs of the business.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is strongly preferred with 5+ years in a product design and engineering role.  PMP (Project Management Professional) certification a plus.
  • Impeccable skills in areas of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and complex system design.
  • Proven ability to make quick decisions with good judgment in a fast paced environment
  • Engineering and product development experience with large scale, multi-component, capital equipment in the fluid handling market.
  • A history of utilizing a continuous improvement mindset to ensure product design and engineering infrastructure is constantly improving.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a strong emphasis on ensuring effective team collaboration
  • Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with a willingness to work closely and solicit input from fabrication personnel is a must.
  • Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) software.

OPPORTUNITY:

ENCON Evaporators is a manufacturer of wastewater evaporation systems for industrial and commercial applications based in Hooksett, NH.  We offer an excellent opportunity for a talented and proven technical professional to provide Service and Support to our customers as well as completing quality assurance testing on our systems before shipment.  A majority of the service/support work is done in house by communicating through phone, email, Skype etc..  As much as 10 - 20% travel may be required.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. in Electrical, Controls, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering are strongly preferred.
  • 3-7  years of service and support for large scale capital equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent written and communications skills with a habit of strong documentation are required.
  • Hands on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and HMI’s are strongly preferred.
  • Significant direct experience with pumps, motors, VFD’s , control devices, plumbing is a strong plus.  Experience reading electrical schematics is required.
  • Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) software is a plus.

SKILLS:

A proven track record with the following are strongly preferred:

  • A habit of creating documents to facilitate the service and support effort as well a habit of working with Engineering on continual improvement to O&M manuals to ensure latest changes and updates are incorporated for customer benefit.
  • An ability to talk the customer through installation and startup requirements over the phone is required.
  • An ability to logically troubleshoot technical issues over the phone is required. This requires a habit of referring to technical documentation as well as exceptional questioning skills.
  • An ability to logically troubleshoot technical issues with direct and remote access to equipment is required.
  • A habit of concluding the startup or troubleshooting process by confirming satisfaction with the customer that includes addressing any open questions or concerns.
  • A habit of concisely summarizing service conversations or customer visits in writing.

  • Experience in and proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook for extensive email correspondence.  
  • Working knowledge and experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) software is preferred.
