Distillation Systems

ENCON offers all of their standard ENCON Evaporator Systems (rates of 8-400 gal/hr) and ENCON Drum Evaporators (200 or 400 gallons per 5 day week) as distillation systems. ENCON Distillation Systems can be heated by natural gas, propane, steam, #2 fuel oil, diesel, kerosene, waste oil, or electricity.

The ENCON Distillation system is different from our ENCON Evaporator System in that clean water vapor is recovered as high quality distilled water. This is accomplished by segregating flue gases (except in the case of steam and electrically heated systems) from the water vapor and directing the water vapor through a shell and tube condenser. As the clean water vapor is pushed through the condenser, it is condensed and is directed to the sump located directly under the condenser support shelf while the air stream is returned to the evaporator tank. This high quality distilled water can be pumped from the sump to an appropriate location in your plant. This water can be considered for reuse in your industrial process or analyzed for acceptable discharge to your POTW or tributary.

Please also note that one of the unique attributes of the ENCON Distillation System is that it can easily be converted to operate as an Evaporator. This offers added convenience in the event of needing to purge the loop of reclaimed water or if excessive water builds up in your system.
