Wastewater Evaporator Rentals & Pilot Units

ENCON Evaporators offers both short-term and long-term rental units for industrial wastewater treatment. Whether you need to process a fixed quantity of wastewater, manage a temporary surge in waste volumes, or prefer a smaller initial investment with predictable monthly payments, ENCON has rental equipment in a wide range of capacities and configurations to fit your operation.

Renting from ENCON gives you access to the same capability you get when purchasing a unit — with the flexibility to scale up, return, or transition to a purchase when the time is right.

Why Rent an Evaporator?

Renting an industrial evaporator is a smart solution when you need proven performance without a long-term capital commitment. Common reasons customers choose ENCON rentals include:

Lower upfront cost — preserve capital for other priorities
Predictable monthly payments that simplify budgeting
Immediate access to equipment without extended lead times
Flexibility to return or upgrade as your wastewater volumes change
Manage temporary or seasonal increases in wastewater generation
Risk-free way to evaluate evaporation technology before committing to a purchase
Meet discharge compliance requirements without a permanent capital investment

Pilot Units for Field Testing

Before committing to a full-scale system, ENCON's pilot unit program allows you to validate evaporation as a solution at your specific facility — using your actual wastewater. Pilot units are available across the same product lines as our rental fleet and can be deployed on-site to generate real-world performance data.

Pilot testing with ENCON helps you:

  • Confirm evaporator performance on your specific wastewater chemistry
  • Determine the right capacity and configuration before purchasing
  • Train operators and build familiarity with the equipment
  • Produce data to support permitting, compliance, or internal approval processes
  • Manage project risk associated with new wastewater streams and accelerate the path to a permanent solution

All pilot units feature the same process equipment, construction materials, automation, and controls as our full-scale purchased systems — so field performance translates directly to what you can expect from a permanent installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about renting and piloting industrial wastewater evaporators from ENCON.

Can I rent an industrial wastewater evaporator instead of buying one?
Yes. ENCON offers both short-term and long-term rental agreements across our product lineup — including Thermal, MVR, VHP, Drum, and Dryer units. Renting is a practical alternative to purchasing when you need flexibility, want to minimize upfront capital, or are evaluating evaporation as a longer-term solution.
What types of wastewater evaporators are available to rent?
ENCON's rental fleet includes Thermal Evaporators (18–438 GPH, natural gas or propane), MVR Evaporators (55 GPH, electric), VHP Evaporators (40 GPH, electric), Drum Evaporators (4 GPH, electric), and Dryers (4–40 GPH, electric). This range covers small-volume or space-constrained applications through high-capacity, energy-sensitive operations.
What processing capacity do ENCON rental evaporators come in?
Rental units are available from 4 gallons per hour up to 438 gallons per hour depending on product line. For higher throughput requirements, multiple units can be operated in parallel. Contact your ENCON Sales Engineer to discuss the right configuration for your flow rate.
What needs to be done to install a rental unit?
Rental units come standard with both a feed pump (to draw wastewater from a holding tank) and a residue pump (to transfer concentrated waste to a disposal container). Once positioned on-site, the unit needs to be connected to your wastewater holding tank, a residue holding vessel, and the appropriate utilities — electrical, compressed air, and clean water service. Units that generate a distillate product also require connection to a distillate holding tank. Units that evaporate to atmosphere (such as Drum and Thermal Evaporators) require connection to an exhaust stack.
Are rental evaporators the same quality as purchased units?
Yes. All ENCON rental and pilot units feature the same process equipment, construction materials, automation, and controls as our full-scale purchased systems. There is no difference in build quality or performance.
What heat sources do ENCON rental evaporators use?
Depending on product line, rental units are available in natural gas, propane, or electric configurations. Thermal Evaporators run on natural gas or propane. MVR, Drum, Dryer, and VHP units are electrically operated. Your ENCON Sales Engineer can help match a unit to your available utilities.
Can I rent an evaporator for a pilot test before purchasing?
Absolutely. ENCON's pilot unit program is specifically designed for this purpose. Pilot units let you test performance on your actual wastewater, collect data to support your purchasing decision, and train your operators — all before making a capital commitment.
How quickly can I get a rental evaporator on-site?
Availability and lead times vary by unit type and current fleet status. In many cases ENCON can deploy rental units faster than the lead time associated with purchasing a new system. Contact your ENCON Sales Engineer for current availability.
What industries commonly rent wastewater evaporators?
ENCON rental units are used across a broad range of industries including metal finishing, automotive manufacturing, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical production, chemical manufacturing, and landfill leachate management, among others. There are no general limitations to the industries that ENCON evaporators can serve for wastewater minimization and management.
Is it more cost-effective to rent or buy a wastewater evaporator?
It depends on your situation. Renting offers lower upfront cost, predictable payments, and flexibility — ideal for temporary needs, pilot testing, or organizations that prefer operating expenses over capital expenditure. Purchasing typically offers better long-term economics for permanent, ongoing treatment. ENCON Sales Engineers can help you evaluate both options.
What is the difference between a Thermal Evaporator and an MVR Evaporator?
Thermal Evaporators use direct combustion (natural gas or propane) to generate heat. They are versatile and cost-effective across many applications. MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) Evaporators reuse energy from evaporated steam via a compressor, making them significantly more energy-efficient — well-suited for high-volume, continuous operations where operating cost is a priority.
