ENCON Competitive Comparison

The ENCON Wastewater Evaporator can handle a wide range of industrial waste water streams that have in the past been handled by other technologies such as chemical treatment systems and membranes; more specifically ultrafilters. A significant percentage of our sales come from replacing these older treatment technologies.

Some of the reasons for industrial customers opting for ENCON Wastewaster Evaporation over chemical treatment and membrane filtration include:

  • ENCON Wastewater Evaporators are less manpower intensive to operate.
  • ENCON Wastewater Evaporators have a lower overall cost of operation.
  • ENCON Wastewater Evaporators are less expensive to maintain.
  • ENCON Wastewater Evaporators can handle a much wider range of waste water streams without the need to modify chemistry or change membranes.
  • ENCON Wastewater Evaporators generate less sludge and residue compared to chemical treatment systems and ultrafilters.
  • ENCON Wastewater Evaporators eliminate the discharge of industrial effluent as well as the associated accountability that goes along with it.

enconThe ENCON Wastewaster Evaporator is generically referred to as a thermal evaporator (bottom-heated, submerged combustion, and serpentine tubed systems are also considered thermal evaporators). Our ENCON Wastewaster Evaporator Systems can be distinguished by safety, efficiency, heat exchanger design, control logic, component quality, quality of fabrication materials, as well as ease of operation and cleaning.

Other types of non-thermal wastewater evaporators include atmospheric evaporators, typically used in the plating industry; and vacuum distillation units, typically found in high volume and clean water applications. Using atmospheric evaporators or vacuum distillation systems with oily, soapy, and solids laden industrial wastewater streams will typically cause rapid degradation in evaporation rates, fouling of heat transfer surfaces, and dramatically reduced efficiency.
